We’re on Portland Road in the Poet’s Corner part of West Hove. Between Geos language school and a print shop.
That’s about 8 minutes walk from Hove train station, a mile from the sea and about 3 miles from Brighton city centre - 20 minutes by bus.

Local shops and cafes we like
We like to Buy Local. Portland Road has a post office, chemist and some cash machines by the Co-op. The printshop next to us is very amenable. Here are our favourite eateries…
- Cafe O - Tasty, home-cooked lunches and cakes on Portland Rd. Try the soup-sandwich combo
- Coriander Restaurant and Deli – great food and an awesome deli. Dogs welcome too.
- Intenso Coffeeshop – the strongest coffee in Hove
- Quaff - Champagne merchant, we like to sit out, sipping their coffee on the sunny side of the street
- The Westbourne for pub lunches and nice beer
- The Ancient Mariner for sausage and mash and a lively Friday evening vibe
- Ethel’s Kitchen for lunch and great cakes
Heading West along Portland Rd you’ll see on the south side a healthfood shop Down to Earth and dress agency Eternal. Eternal sells a classy range of cut-price designer gear. Further along on the north side, past Quaff, is the Acupuncture Clinic - which runs community acupuncture on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
