Pamper yourself, protect the Polar bear

On Saturday 21 Nov we are holding a 12-hour treatment marathon to raise money for the Polar bear. We are offering 30 minute taster treatments for just £15 and the treatments include:

  • Aromatherapy back massage
  • Indian head massage
  • Reflexology

I have chosen to align Uniquely Organic with the Born Free Foundation for its shared respect toward the power we have to change and protect our planet and the wildlife inhabiting it. Animals and environmental protection have always been a huge passion of mine which is the reason for offering only pure organic treatments and using ethical suppliers.

So what are the links between non-organic products/treatments and the plight of the Polar bear?

  • Huge amounts of carbon dioxide are pumped out by factories not using green energy.
  • Companies are not offsetting their carbon emissions caused by product transportation.
  • Unethical farmers are chopping down rainforests and using chemical-riddled fertilisers to grow non-organic ingredients for the beauty industry.

All of these points are contributing to global warming, which is causing the polar ice caps to melt and hastening the extinction of Polar bears. As it loses its hunting ground and is forced to swim up to 60 miles to find food, this beautiful creature is experiencing exhaustion, hypothermia and drowning.

Now is your chance to make a difference. If you would like to book a treatment for this event, simply email me at kirsty[at]uniquelyorganic.co.uk and donate your £15 at http://www.justgiving.com/uniquelyorganic . You get your chosen relaxing treatment, while the bears benefit from your donation.

If you can’t come along but still want to show your support for the polar bears please feel free to donate whatever you can … we know they will appreciate it! All therapists participating in this event have offered their time and energy for free, so a big thanks to everyone who is getting involved.

Many thanks,
Kirsty Taylor

Being here right NOW is a workshop designed to help YOU practice and expand your performance confidence no matter what you do. whether you’re an actor, public speaker, presenter, or even a single parent, with regular practice you will build a confidence, and an ability to be able to just “be in the NOW” and feel comfortable, and even joyful. YES even joyful, because you would have disregarded any previous challenges of the unknown, and find it exciting to find out what  happens NEXT!

Is your role in life hiding who you are? or expanding who you are.
Workshops are open to anyone regardless of experience, however you will be encouraged to step out out of your comfort zone, by improvising scenes/scenarios in a supportive and safe environment.

We will be exploring all the various emotions/situations you are ever likely to come across in a play/film/part of any type.

The Story of Stuff – Westwerks Film Night

Join us on Friday 30 Oct 2009.

We’ll be watching The Story of Stuff with Annie Leonard.

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view.

The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns.

The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something, it’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.
